Job Description & Purpose

The primary function of the Loan Processor is processing residential loan files, working with customers, vendors, and in-house operations from the time a complete loan file is sent to processing through to funding, to ensure the timely and accurate packaging of all loans originated by our loan officers.

Essential Functions

• Gathers loan documents from the customer and third parties in support of the loan approval process
• Successfully works with Loan Officers, Funders & Underwriters to ensure that files are submitted to
• Underwriting within expected timelines established by the company and to ensure that loan conditions are met as required in each stage of the loan process
• Partners with Loan Officers, Funders & Underwriters to provide on-going, cohesive communication to the customer regarding loan status
• Continually uses tools available in company LOS and investor software to check for notes and conditions required to move loan file through to funding
• Provides assistance and takes on additional responsibilities as directed by management, as needed to efficiently and successfully complete loans within a growing organization (E.g. pull credit, run DU, provide disclosures, request loan locks, etc.)
• Continually updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
• Strictly adheres to all State and Federal laws, compliance policies and guidelines and strict adherence to HMDA requirements — demonstrating a vigilant commitment to professional ethics at all times

Education and Experience

• The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of processing experience in a Retail Mortgage environment
• Demonstrates an understanding of mortgage processing, underwriting, closing and funding procedures
• Strong working knowledge of current Conventional, VA, FHA, USDA, and Non-QM guidelines
